Dubai, UAE — On 24–25 November, the Russian Business Council hosted a distinguished delegation of mayors and municipal leaders from across the Russian Federation participating in the International School of Municipal Leadership program.
On 24 November, the Council organized a high-level roundtable at Capital Club Dubai, bringing together Russian municipal leaders and UAE-based experts. The event opened with a welcome address by Mr. Saleh Al-Aroud, Chairman of the Russian Business Council, followed by remarks from Mr. Maxim Vladimirov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The program featured two key presentations:
Mr. Amjad Mustafa, Managing Partner & General Partner at Yellow Fin Venture Capital Fund, who addressed the impact of technology on modern urban environments.
Mr. Ahmad Rafal, Global Senior Director for the Transportation Sector at Khatib & Alami, who shared innovative, context-specific approaches to bridge design and construction across the Middle East.
On 25 November, the delegation continued its program with an official visit to The Sustainable City Dubai. The visit included an in-depth presentation on the city’s development model, governance structure, and environmental framework, followed by discussions with the leadership team on policy innovation, smart infrastructure, and community-driven sustainability. The program concluded with a guided site tour showcasing practical applications of renewable energy, sustainable transport, and urban resilience.
This two-day program reflects the growing interest of Russian municipalities in Dubai’s experience in governance, innovation, and sustainable city management. The Russian Business Council remains committed to fostering dialogue, sharing best practices, and strengthening cooperation between Russian and UAE communities.
